3.3 FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS

Following the various presentations, the following feedback was noted;

Avoid Politicking-Stakeholders should avoid politicizing issues related to the project and work collaboratively to enable the Project achieve its intended objectives. GLTFP is a neutral project with no political affiliation. Its main mandate is service delivery.

Concern on Land Displacement and resettlement-Traders expressed fear on aftermath of Land displacement and where they would be resettled, and how the compensation would be done. Traders were urged to avoid speculation  since there’s no current knowledge on displacement process and resettlement

State of the road at the Market-Motorcyclists and Cyclists should avoid driving recklessly.

Representation PWDs during Project Implementation-Request for technical representation od PWD’s during project construction.

Clear flow of Information between Town Council and CBTA-Stakeholders should have clear flow and harmonization of Information.

Stakeholder identification and engagement-Traders sought clarity on process of identification of Stakeholders. Designs for the Border market t be approved by Mpondwe Town council and regular site meetings will be in place to view progress.

Missing Land Titles-Some Traders complained of lack of Land titles and were wondering on how they would be handled during land resettlement.Law governing land is in place.

Ensure consultancy firms consult the local people for stakeholders & Beneficiaries

Sensitization of CBTA & Town Council on people at the Border-Need to explain to the people

Complaints of people on Land resettlement-Concern was shown by Participants regarding resettlement and displacement on Project Implementing  were complaining about where would be resettled. Will World Bank stop the Project? People should stop speculation since there is no current information on who will be displaced.
