The Great Lakes Trade Facilitation Project
The Great Lakes Trade Facilitation Project is part of the broader initiative for the Great Lakes region to reduce poverty and promote shared prosperity. It targets some of the most vulnerable groups in the border regions of Uganda and her neighboring countries.
The project will support regional peace and stability through programs to improve livelihoods in border areas, promote cross-border trade, and strengthen economic interdependence. Facilitating trade is a key mechanism for reducing poverty by reducing costs faced by traders, increasing the availability of food and critical farm inputs, and increasing the number of jobs.
