Background

With an aim to contribute to capacity building and a sustainable information dissemination mechanism especially tailored for the cross-border traders’ level of understanding, the GLTFP commissioned development of five trainers’ manuals. The five manuals cover various aspects in relation to the cross-border trade including;

  1. the simplified trade regime (STR);
  2. customer management;
  3. gender and development concept;
  4. gender-based violence (GBV); and;
  5. Training management, delivery and communication skills.
  6. After the training manuals were been developed, potential trainers from each of the three GLTFP participating countries (Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo) were trained and in turn were expected to train cross border traders and border officials from their respective countries in the great lakes region.
